As from today, international business has an extra arrow to its bow.

Opportunities multiply with PIT 7, the territorial development programme that organises initiatives supporting the economy of the province of Brindisi through the valorisation of infrastructures and the enhancement of logistics and intermodal transport.

The Near East is a new integrated territorial project that focuses on enhancing the transport sector, strengthening the level of competitiveness of firms and identifying new sales opportunities both within the region of Puglia and on an international level.

Optimising the efficiency of the transport system is just the first step in a series of actions aimed at improving the local economy. PIT 7 sets out to increase the quality of industrial areas, also through boosted technological and IT innovation, greater integration between cities and suburbs, and enhanced professional training to create new work opportunities.

In terms of internationalisation, the Brindisi area has a trans-border and trans-Adriatic outlook, and indeed trade with Eastern European countries is continuously on the up. This is also due to the province’s geographical location - a central crossroads for business from the Balkans (including Bulgaria), the Mediterranean (including Egypt and Turkey) and the great new Asian markets (including China), all of which regard Brindisi as the gateway to continental Europe.

In other words, work is in progress to expand this crucial junction, creating a close connection with suburban logistical structures for the collection and distribution of goods.

Multiple carriageway roads are the way to a more dynamic economy.
